Ashley, RDH, BLS
Ashley has been the head hygienist at The Classic Smile since 2008 and has now taken on the job of sterilization coordinator. Ashley’s goal is to attend to the needs of her patients and develop lasting relationships by promoting health and wellness through the provision of dental hygiene care. She is dedicated to providing the best possible treatment options available to patients by staying current on her continuing education. Ashley is certified in CPR/BLS training, nitrous oxide monitoring, medical emergencies, and many whitening procedures.
Ashley was born in New Hampshire and raised in Southern Vermont. As captain of the cheerleading team in high school, Ashley learned leadership skills as well as team bonding and has carried this throughout her dental hygiene career. She attended Mount Ida College in Newton in 2005 and graduated in 2008 with an associate’s degree in dental hygiene. In 2009, Ashley was working part-time as a temporary hygienist and attending school full-time until she earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. Ashley has been attending the annual Yankee Dental Congress and takes courses to maintain knowledge in the most up-to-date research and technology.
Ashley currently resides in Needham and has a rabbit named Cocoa and a Weimaraner named Blue. She enjoys exercising and being outside and is a true Vermonter at heart.
Cassie, RDH, BLS
Cassie has been in the dental field since 2007 when she started as a dental assistant for an orthodontic office. She then went on to study Dental Hygiene at Middlesex Community College in Lowell Massachusetts and got her license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2013. Cassie has been at The Classic Smile since October 2013. She enjoys getting to know her patients and making sure they are as comfortable as possible. She takes pride in providing them with a great level of oral health care and making sure they area happy with their smile. Cassie has her local anesthesia permit which allows her provide specific services to help in overall health of periodontal care. She is also certified in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support, able to monitor nitrous oxide, and experienced with Invisalign. This allows her to help her patients maintain great overall health as well as dental health.
Cassie grew up in Winchester Massachusetts and now lives in the North shore area. Cassie enjoys snowboarding, yoga, going to the beach in the summer, volunteering in her community and spending time with her friends and family.
Our front desk staff — Nikki, Susan, and Lee — are the first smiling faces you will meet at The Classic Smile. They are highly trained individuals ready to help you with all your financial and insurance needs, and will work with you and your schedule to make your experience at The Classic Smile simple, relaxing, and stress-free. Our front desk staff is prepared to answer any and all of your questions!

Susan, Scheduling Coordinator
Susan has welcomed patients at the front desk of The Classic Smile since 2006. She will most likely be the first voice you hear or the first face you will see when you enter our practice. Susan’s knowledge of finances and dental procedures has served as a great resource for many of our patients. If she does not know the answer to your questions, she will route your call to someone who does.
As the scheduling coordinator, Susan helps coordinate all activities at The Classic Smile in order to provide patients with the highest quality of dental care. In addition, Susan is committed to continuous learning and personal growth as it relates to the field of high-tech dentistry.
A lifelong Melrose resident, Susan stays actively involved in her community by donating time to various local charity groups, and is a regular volunteer at the Northeast Animal Shelter. Susan is a proud volunteer for the Jimmy Fund foundation and has walked in four Jimmy Fund marathons, volunteered at three Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowls, and has participated in many more charity events to help fight cancer. Susan’s enthusiasm and commitment to local charities has been an inspiration to the office.
Liliete is our newest team member! This past June, Liliete joined our administration team and is currently our hygiene coordinator and receptionist. Liliete has been in the dental industry for the past 3 years, where she has acquired customer services skills, knowledge of dental procedures and insurances breakdowns. Liliete is also fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and Caverdian Creole.
Liliete stays actively involved in her community by volunteering time to a Youth Group and a Christian Women’s Group.
The dental assistants at The Classic Smile are here to make you comfortable when you visit our office, and to give hands-on support to your dentist. This highly trained and smiling team works side by side with Dr. Short, Dr. Schnell, Dr. Gonzalez, and Dr. Sharifi to ensure your time in the dental chair will be as brief and enjoyable as possible.
Izzy is a certified dental assistant and 2014 graduate from the Northern Essex Dental Assisting program in Lawrence, MA. She has been working full time at The Classic Smile since May 2014.
Izzy takes pride in giving patients the best possible comfort and care, as well as helping them achieve their dental goals. Her favorite aspects about dental assisting are working in the lab making retainers, diagnostic models, and in office crowns with the Cerec machine. Most importantly, she values seeing the reaction of her patients when they have transitioned into a greater, healthier smile.
As an original resident of the North shore, Izzy has learned to love working in the busy city of Medford, MA where she has made many friends here. She enjoys being anywhere close enough to the beach and the city at the same time. Some of her hobbies include spending time with her family, going to the gym, and being outdoors. Izzy is also a huge animal lover for all animals, but especially her kitten, Nike, and her dog, Coco.
Kate is a Certified Dental Assistant at The Classic Smile and has been working with our patients for the past 3 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Providence College in 2012 and has been working in the dental field ever since.
Kate enjoys helping patients ease their comfort in the dental chair and strives to better their overall experience here at The Classic Smile. She especially loves providing whitening services to brighten our patients’ smiles! Be sure to ask her what we can do to help your smile at your next visit!
Kate volunteers actively within the community and likes to keep up to date with continuing education at local courses and conventions. She is currently pursuing her dental experience further working towards a career in dental hygiene.
